Faith in the Marketplace
Building together. Leading faithfully.
I’m Kimberley Preeper, and my work with D&S Electric has made the connection between faith and business deeply personal. Decisions, commitments, and caring for people keep bringing me back to one question: how can I honour God in the work He has entrusted to me?
That question grew into a vision I first called Stones & Shoulders. Inspired by Nehemiah’s account of people rebuilding shoulder to shoulder, I felt a desire to encourage Christian business owners to build with integrity, share wisdom, and strengthen one another. The ministry did not grow as I had first imagined, but that desire is still on my heart. The experience has only strengthened my trust and faith in God’s timing.
Here at Shine 9, Faith in the Marketplace gives that vision a place to grow. God has blessed me with supportive sisters in Christ whose love, encouragement, and guidance help me continue to nurture this dream. I envision a community where business owners can pray together, speak honestly about the challenges of leadership, offer practical encouragement, and pass on what they are learning to the next generation. A community where faith shapes how we serve customers, care for employees, steward resources, and make difficult decisions.
I’m still learning, too. Through these reflections, I hope to walk alongside others who want to follow Jesus in their everyday work. Whatever God entrusts to us, my prayer is that we learn to carry it faithfully—and remember we do not have to build alone.
When Our Practices Need to Match Our Purpose
Does the way we build reflect the God we say we serve? A personal reflection on integrity in business and ministry, the courage to set boundaries, and learning to lead with honesty, accountability, and compassion.
Learning to Be Faithful With What Is Mine to Carry
Caring deeply about a business can make every responsibility feel like yours to carry. I’m learning to pause, seek God’s direction, and be faithful with the people and work already entrusted to me—while trusting Him with what I cannot control.
